Last month, RMEF volunteers and partners worked to clean up the historic Minam trail and expand access to the newly opened portion of the Minam River Acquisition project.
The landscape-scale conservation project, when fully completed, will open and improve public hunting and recreational access to more than 15,000 acres, and protect critical winter range for a herd of 1,400 elk and vital habitat for a variety of fish and other wildlife, including 114 miles of clear, mountain streams – a truly remarkable win for wildlife, hunters, anglers and the general public.
