A Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation life member with a long history of volunteering is among eight people to be inducted into the Arizona Outdoor Hall of Fame in 2024. Randy Stalcup will be inducted on August 24 in Litchfield Park.
Below is a description of Stalcup’s volunteer efforts according to Wildlife for Tomorrow, an organization that looks to support and magnify the Arizona Game and Fish Department’s (AZGFD) mission to conserve and protect Arizona’s wildlife and provide safe, ethical outdoor recreation.
A dedicated wildlife conservation advocate, Randy has contributed significantly to various organizations in Arizona for over three decades. His journey began as a volunteer for Arizona’s wildlife in the early 1990s. Since then, he has played integral roles in organizations such as the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Arizona Deer Association (ADA), Outdoor Experience 4 All (OE4A) and more. Randy’s graphic design expertise has been instrumental in organizing successful fundraisers, creating banquet programs, and supporting initiatives like the Adopt-A-Ranch program with the O’Haco Ranch. His tireless efforts have not gone unnoticed, as reflected in awards like the 2022 RMEF Chairman’s Award, recognizing his exceptional contributions to wildlife conservation. Randy’s selfless dedication and professional services have made a lasting impact on Arizona’s wildlife and conservation efforts.
The Arizona Game and Fish Commission previously named Stalcup its 2019 volunteer of the year. Among other things, Stalcup helped start the O’Haco Ranch project, a nearly three-decade partnership between Arizona rancher Jim O’Haco and RMEF volunteers. The project is part of AZGFD’s Adopt a Ranch program, where volunteers complete land stewardship work on private land. The landowners then open their private land to public access and hunting. Stalcup is a 34-year RMEF volunteer and member of the Red Mountain Chapter.
