The Fish and Wildlife Division of the Oregon State Police cited a man in the western part of the state of poaching a spike elk. It happened near the small town of Toledo.
According to the Newport News Times, Brent Manning reportedly admitted to shooting the animal with a crossbow before daylight in early September. A trooper found evidence of the incident on private property.
Manning faces numerous citations including hunting with an unauthorized weapon and without a license.
For 2020, Remington partnered with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation to increase the visibility of poaching incidents in an effort to reduce poaching nationwide.
