The application period for Pennsylvania’s 2024 elk hunt opened on February 1, and continues until July 14, 2024. Applications are $11.97 per season or $35.91 for all three:
- Archery Season: Sept. 14- 28, 2024
- General Season: Nov. 4-9, 2024
- Late Season: Dec. 28 – Jan. 4, 2025 (excluding Sundays)
For most of the seasons, there are four options for applying:
- Antlered Only: Applicant is only interested in hunting antlered elk
- Antlerless Only: Applicant is only interested in hunting antlerless elk
- Either-Sex: Applicant is interested in hunting either antlered or antlerless elk
- Point-Only: Applicant is NOT included in the current year’s drawing but is awarded the bonus point
A guide is not needed to hunt elk but it is required to buy both a general hunting license and an elk license. Click here for more information.
Dating back to 1991, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and its partners completed 569 conservation and hunting heritage outreach projects in Pennsylvania with a combined value of more than $29.2 million. Those projects conserved or enhanced 29,449 acres and opened or improved access to 10,838 acres.
