Below is a news release from the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife. The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation had a representative that rotated off so RMEF encourages a replacement to represent hunters.

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is seeking candidates to serve a two-year appointment on the Wolf Advisory Group (WAG). Four positions are currently vacant on the group, which provides recommendations to WDFW’s Director on the conservation and management of wolves in Washington.

Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with people who have different viewpoints to develop advice and recommendations for WDFW.

Interested individuals can apply by downloading, completing, and emailing this application (PDF) to [email protected] or by filling out the application, printing, and mailing to Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, P. O. Box 43200, Olympia, WA 98504-3200, Attention Subhadeep Bhattacharjee. You can also request a printed application form by emailing the address above or calling 360-902-8135.

WDFW will accept applications through 5 p.m. Pacific Time, Sept. 15, 2025.

The WAG holds at least four two-day meetings (in-person and virtual) per year. Advisory group members may be reimbursed by WDFW for travel expenses to attend meetings.

All members of the public are invited to apply for WDFW advisory group positions regardless of race, color, sex, age, national origin, language proficiency, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, status as a veteran, or basis of disability. Based on the current composition of the group (PDF), WDFW is especially interested in recruiting stakeholders who can contribute the valuable perspectives of hunters, livestock producers, environmental or conservation concerns, and other “at large” interests.

The WAG was formed in 2013 to provide a broad range of perspectives to help inform Washington’s gray wolf conservation and management. You can learn more about the group on WDFW’s website.
