Below is a news release from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW). The current 2025 regulations cover (see below) features a Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation member at the annual Asotin volunteer work project.WDFW is accepting entries for this year’s Big Game Hunting Pamphlet Photo Contest. We’re looking for photos that showcase the experience and traditions of hunting in Washington. Whether it’s the excitement of a first hunt, the beauty of a hunter’s sunrise, the hard work of packing out the harvest, or the connections made with family and friends, we want to see your stories come to life through images.

A few theme ideas to inspire you:

  • First hunts and youth hunters
  • Hunting with family, friends, or partners
  • Hunter dawns, sunsets, and hunting camps
  • Packing out the harvest or field-dressed game
  • Passing on the hunting tradition
  • Backcountry hunting, traditional equipment, or unique hunting spots

The contest closes February 13th, and the winning photos will be featured in the 2026 Big Game Hunting Pamphlet and showcased online.
