The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) will host a webinar on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 6 p.m. (PDT) about the Minam River Wildlife Area (MRWA) draft management plan. It will focus on key management objectives outlined in the draft plan and kick off a 30-day public comment period. Comments received will be incorporated into a final draft presentation to the Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission for review and adoption at a future meeting.
The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation worked with ODFW and Manulife Investment Management Timber and Agriculture Inc. to successfully conserve, protect and open public access to the 17,087-acre MRWA. It is home to elk, deer, black bears, birds, fish and other wildlife species. Click here to learn more about the MRWA and here to view a short film about it.
Once completed, the adaptive MRWA Management Plan will be reviewed within five years and at least every 10 years thereafter to make any necessary changes.
RMEF encourages its members and interested sportsmen and women to be engaged and leave public comment.
